Proper maintenance and upkeep of steel structure workshops can effectively extend their service life.
Key points for daily maintenance and upkeep of steel structure workshops:
1. After the steel structure workshop is installed, its structure should not be altered without authorization. No bolts or other components should be disassembled, and partitions should not be added or removed. If any changes are necessary, they must be discussed with the manufacturer, who will determine whether the changes are feasible. The steel structure must be painted approximately every three years to maintain its aesthetics and safety. The type and specifications of paint should be the same as the original coating.
2. Steel structure workshops must be cleaned and maintained regularly. Under normal circumstances, an inspection and maintenance should be conducted annually to ensure the steel structure is free from corrosion, leaks, and damage, and to prevent roof cracks, leaks, and damage to the insulation layer.
3. Regular fireproofing treatment of the steel structure is required. All exposed steel components should be coated with fire-retardant paint. The fire resistance time for steel beams should be no less than 1.5 hours, and for steel columns, no less than 2.5 hours.
4. Regular deformation monitoring is required. If the main components of the steel structure exhibit excessive deformation during the service period, it indicates that its load-bearing capacity or stability can no longer meet the usage requirements, and analysis and remediation should be organized promptly. Other regular inspection items include: checking whether cracks, loosening, or breakage occur at welds, bolts, rivets, and other connections; whether excessive local deformation occurs in various members, webs, connecting plates, and other components; and whether the overall structural deformation is abnormal.
