Aircraft hangars can be classified into painted hangars and non-painted hangars based on maintenance process conditions.
Painted Hangars
Aircraft hangars used for aircraft painting operations are called painted hangars.
Aircraft cleaning and painting involve the use of large quantities of organic solvents, flammable or combustible liquids, and flammable and explosive materials. Painted hangars generally have special requirements regarding building structure, fire protection, ventilation, electrical equipment, and operational processes.
Non-Painted Hangars
Hangars whose building structure, fire protection, ventilation, electrical equipment, and operational processes do not require consideration of painting requirements are called non-painted hangars.
